THE YOUTH COUNCIL OF THE JULIAN ALPS BIOSPHERE RESERVE

The Youth Council of the Julian Alps Biosphere Reserve is an advisory board open to young people aged between 16 and 30 years old who resides in the municipalities of the Biosphere Reserve (Artegna, Chiusaforte, Dogna, Gemona del Friuli, Lusevera, Moggio Udinese, Montenars, Resia, Resiutta, Taipana e Venzone).

It also has a proactive function to give voice to the younger generations within the territory for them to be able to put forward requests and ideas of to those who manage the Reserve.

The Regulation governing its activities was drawn up directly by the young people who initially joined the Julian Prealps Nature Park project – the managing body of the Julian Alps Biosphere Reserve – and was approved by the Park Authority’s Board. The Regulation specifies the objectives and functions of the Council, highlights its core values and sets out the rules for its operation.

Participation is voluntary and open to all young people who wish to join.
